terms

the terms.

last updated · 5 September 2026

embr is operated by Stoneset Inc., a California corporation. These terms cover this website and the embr app. Where a treatment center has signed an agreement with us, that agreement governs and these terms fill only the gaps it leaves.

embr is not therapy

This is the most important line on the page. embr is a companion for the hours between sessions. It does not diagnose, it does not treat, and it does not replace a clinician, a prescriber, or a care team. Using it creates no clinician–patient relationship with Stoneset or with anyone who built it.

Nothing embr says is medical advice. If something it says conflicts with what your clinician told you, your clinician is right.

embr is not a crisis service

No one is watching embr for emergencies. It cannot summon help and it cannot tell whether you are safe. If you are in danger, call or text 988, or see crisis resources. embr surfaces 988 when a conversation suggests it, but that is a signpost, not a safety net.

a center agreement comes first

Where a treatment center deploys embr to the people in its care, that deployment runs under a signed agreement covering scope, data handling, and the Business Associate Agreement between us. Nothing on this page narrows, widens, or replaces it.

paying, renewing, cancelling

embr for individuals is free during early access. There is no subscription and we do not take a card. If we introduce a paid plan, we will announce it in advance of the change taking effect, and nothing is ever charged without your clear agreement. Where a payment is taken, it is processed by Stripe; you can cancel anytime, cancelling stops the next renewal but does not refund the current period, and there are no partial refunds.

Where a treatment center deploys embr to the people in its care, that access is governed by the center agreement, not by this section — patients covered by a center are never billed individually.

using embr fairly

Use it for yourself, or for the people your center serves. Do not use it to harm anyone, to impersonate a clinician, or to generate content you will present as clinical advice from us. Do not attempt to reach data belonging to a center you are not authorised for, and do not scrape, resell, or rebuild the service from its outputs.

what belongs to whom

embr — the app, the site, the writing, the marks, the companion, and the code behind them — belongs to Stoneset Inc. What you type belongs to you; we claim no ownership of it and, as the privacy policyexplains, we do not keep it unless you ask us to by turning on “keep my conversation” — and you can delete that at any time.

availability

embr is provided as it is. We work to keep it up and we do not promise it always will be. Features change. Models change. If a change would meaningfully alter what a center relies on, we tell that center before it lands.

limits

To the extent the law allows, Stoneset is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of embr, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the service in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
